Emily Alderman is the second teenager from the Southampton Diving Academy to have qualified to represent Great Britain at the Junior European and Junior World Diving Championships later this summer.
Emily took silver in the highboard event at the ASA British National Junior Elite Diving Competition held in Sheffield.
Her score earns her a place on the Junior National team in Palma de Majorca for the European Championships in July and in Kuala Lumpur for the World Championships in August.
An awesome inward two and a half somersaults from the 7m board was significant in clinching her a place alongside Southampton team mate Max Brick, who also qualified on highboard earlier in the week.
On Saturday June 17 Emily will be one of the divers taking part in a public display at The Quays.
On that day her grandparents, Jan and Alan Alderman, will be honoured for their involvement in diving for over three decades.
Alan recently retired as President of the Southampton Diving Academy, which he has held since its birth in 2000.
Jan remains treasurer for the club.
