HARPAL Chana and Sam Starr sparkled as Team Southampton matched the weather with a sunshine performance in the National Young Athletes' League at Kingston.
Chana heaved out a pb 41.87m in the discus, winning both the shot and hammer to scoop the boys' field athlete-of-the-match award.
Club debutant Starr, meanwhile, produced the boys' track performance-of-the-day, clocking a AAA qualifying time of 11.8 seconds in the under-15 80 metres hurdles.
Connor Newman, pictured, continued his cracking season with a 2.22.8 victory in the under-13 boys' 800m, while there were again wins for the pole-vaulting Humby brothers Peter winning the under-17 event with a pb 2.90 clearance.
For the girls, Eve Selby made a welcome return by winning the under-17 80m hurdles in 13.8 seconds almost a dead heat with Rebecca Carozzi who headed the B-string in the same time.
Georgie Pick and Anna Stevens did well in the throws the under-15 girls, while Lucy Ferris top-scored for the under-13s with wins in the A high jump, B 70m hurdles and B long jump.
The team return to NYAL action at Southampton Sports Centre on June 25 following a Wessex League date at Bournemouth on June 18.
