Saints fans are unlikely to know the result of the EGM to decide the future of their club until the day after the meeting.
It had been expected that a result would be announced at some stage on the day of the EGM Monday, July 3.
However, the collating of the results being carried out by Lloyds TSB Registrars, who act as independent scrutineers is likely to take longer than first anticipated. That means a result is more likely to be announced on Tuesday July 4 as to whether chairman Rupert Lowe retains control or not.
The meeting is taking place at St Mary's in the Itchen Suite at 11.30am.
Doors open an hour earlier but, with the Itchen Suite holding only 500 people, there will be a two-way video link in the Itchen North Concourse for shareholders who can't fit into the main room.
