Budding gymnasts from Southampton Gymnastics Club put aside their worries about the fate of the Deanery gymnasium in St Mary's to enjoy their annual acrobatic and tumbling centre finals.
The club has an uncertain future following an eviction notice served by City College, which originally required them to vacate their training facility at the Deanery in St Mary's next week.
Club chairman Kevin Warren said: "Thanks to the efforts of the many supporters of the club's petition to save the Deanery, City College have now agreed to discuss the position with us and change the terms of the eviction notice to a rolling 14-day review.
"This temporary reprieve has bought us a little time to negotiate. Only with the use of a properly equipped facility like the Deanery can the children continue to develop and take part in gymnastics activities for many years to come.' "It would be such a shame for the many children who are members of the club to lose the opportunity to take part in gymnastics in Southampton."
The finals were only open to gymnasts from the club's affiliated centres. Members of the elite performance squads do not take part.
Proudest competitors were the gold medal winners with the highest scores of the day, all from the Testwood Centre women's regional 1 tumbler Amy Lee (78.3 points) and the women's grade 1 group of Sara Chalk, Hannah Gibbs and Rhiannon Hayes (25.95).
Theirs was quite an achievement for the trio who only put their routine together a couple of weeks ago and had to work hard to get it finished in time.
Testwood had a good day, several first-time competitors picking up medals. They also made a clean sweep of the medals in the women's Regional 1 tumbling, Amy Lee, Katy Farrell and Rachel Smith taking gold, silver and bronze respectively.
The Inner City Centre was also celebrating gold, silver and bronze in men's Regional 2 tumbling, through Kieran Whittle, Edward Clarke and Daniel Avery.
Not to be outdone, Millbrook Centre's Kerry Jones, Sarah Burnett and Hannah Yard were first, second and third respectively in women's Regional 4 tumbling.
Other tumbling gold medals went to Liam Purkiss (Testwood), Christina Binney (Test Valley), Mary Cormack (Bartley), James Smith (Testwood), Jimmy Cannon (Inner City), Ellie Cooper (Test Valley), Eli King (Inner City) and John Murray (Test Valley).
Floor medals were more evenly spread between the centres, but Testwood, Test Valley and City Acro Centres took all the gold medals between them.
Testwood partnerships of Sara Chalk, Hannah Gibbs and Rhiannon Hayes, Olivia Beer and Amy Thorne, Lewis Clark and James Smith and Megan Jenkins and Becky Head all took golds, as did Danielle King and Shannin Cove and Avalon Jennings and Jimmy Cannon for City Acro.
John Murray and Clarisse Richards, Mary Cormack, Nicola Bertram and Rachel Kelly and Lee Barnard and Lily Thorne were all winners for Test Valley.
Barnard was particularly pleased with his medal, after injuring his foot a couple of days before the competition and having to drop out of the tumbling and grade 2 men's pairs to protect it from impact work.
Chairman Warren praised the dedication and camaraderie of competitors.
"It is so pleasing to see so many youngsters here doing their best to achieve, and having a good time together," he said. "This is what grass roots gymnastics is all about."
The club, founded in 1968, has 60 coaches mostly unpaid volunteers, and more than 700 gymnasts.
It currently operates out of two main centres at the Deanery and the new Southampton Gymnastics Centre at Redbridge, with 11 satellite centres scattered in and around the city.
The Redbridge facility was opened in March 2005 following major grants from Sport England and British Gymnastics, and financial assistance from several other organisations.
