THE Stoneham Evening Series on Eastleigh and District's bottom lake saw £500 on golden peg money up for grabs.
The jackpot, built up over the last 12 months, looked certain to go with Pat Foster on peg one and Kings Toyota Gerry Naylor on peg 38, both golden pegs, well clear going into the last minutes.
But Carbotec's Lee Woodhouse made sure the money rolls over to next week when he landed a 14lb carp on the pole and pellet just before the final whistle.
Along with another carp, plus skimmers and cruscians, Woodhouse finished with 38lb 8oz from peg 30 on the dam wall to win. Pat Foster finished second with 37-4 from peg one on the island with a mixed net of skimmers, cruscians and tench on the pole and soft pellet with Kings Toyota skipper Garry Naylor third (32-4).
Others P Fraser (Cormorants) 30-15, P White (Eastleigh) 23-9, H Salkerd 19-1.
