World championship motocross pulled in the crowds at Matterley Bowl near Winchester at the weekend.
A staggering 39,000 spectators descended on the Hampshire countryside to watch the races in the British round of the Motocross World Championships.
Martin Mansbridge, from organisers Bike-It Promotions, said: "What an action-packed couple of days. We're incredibly happy so many people have come to show their support."
And the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Sue Nelmes took to the podium to present MX2 winner David Philippaerts with his cup, pictured below, and commented: "I'm so proud to have this event in Winchester it's been such a thrill to be on the podium. A great day out with more spectacle than Formula One!"
Philippaerts beat fellow Italian Toni Cairoli into second place with 17-year-old Brit, Tommy Searle, in third place.
Local Bike-It Yamaha rider Billy MacKenzie narrowly missed out on the podium, coming in fourth overall.
The race for MX1 was just as spectacular, as world champion Stefan Everts battled hard to beat Kevin Strijbos, who came in second, with Josh Coppins taking third position.
Early on in the race Everts hit a rock and his back wheel slid.
"I had to be aggressive after that, chasing Kevin and Steve Ramon. I pushed hard and managed to come through to victory. It's been great racing and I'm very happy," he said.
