It looked like another win for Ryde at Woolston Regatta on Saturday.
Sun-drenched spectators watched from the shore, right, as the senior finalists raced for their turning marks off Southampton's Weston Shore.
The BTC four of L Iddenden, Dean Harrison, Matt Bailey and Simon Bailey (stroke) were still rowing across to their buoy as Ryde thundered in for a perfect turn and a two-lengths lead as they headed home.
BTC coxswain Matty Strange held his crew on a wide line, not wanting to repeat last week's performance at Poole when the crew missed their mark.
But BTC made up the leeway with each stroke on the Ryde crew.
Ryde upped their stroke-rate but BTC clawed themselves level with 200 metres to go and Ryde had no answer to their sheer aggression as they crossed the finishing line exactly one length ahead, fists pumping the air in celebration.
