THE Greenridge Farm match record was shattered by more than 70lb in the TVAC Club match when Poingdestres' Pete Newman became the first angler to beat the 200lb mark.
Newman, pictured below, landed a huge 258lb 13oz of carp to 12lb.
Drawn on peg 15 on Canal 2 Newman used long pole and floating pellet on the surface to over double the weight of his nearest rival John Clark who took 125 lb 4oz of carp to 8lb on pole and sweetcorn from peg 14 on Canal 7.
Garry Wright finished third with 104lb 8oz of carp to 10lb from peg 17 with Adam Sear fourth with 74 lb 8 oz. Others: A Palmer 72lb 8oz, R Chapman 68lb 13oz.
The mid-week open on Stoneham saw Greenridge Match Groups' Mick Kenny, pictured below, take two carp for 10lb plus skimmers, tench and crucians for 45lb 6oz from peg 1 around the island on pole and soft pellet.
Pete Frasier (Cormorants) finished second with 40lb 14oz of mixed fish on pole and caster from peg 7 with Rick Kaijko third with a 36lb 14oz mixed bag on the waggler and caster from peg 42 in open water with Kings Toyota's Garry Naylor, pictured right with 32lb 6oz fourth. Others: R Allen 26 lb 7oz, D Higgins (Kings Toyota) 23 lb 4 oz).
The popular Eastleigh barbecue match at Stoneham saw a one-two for Kings Toyota's Garry Naylor and Dave Higgins.
Naylor took 39lb 4oz of bream to 2lb on the long pole, caster and pellet from peg 30 to get the better of teammate Higgins who took 35lb 4oz of tench and crucians on the long pole and pellet from peg 42.
Dave Self finished third with two carp plus bits and pieces for 31lb 15oz from peg 96 on the top lake with his son Richie fourth with 29lb 6oz. Others: P Fellbrich 27lb 8oz, R Kajko 27lb 2oz.
Victory went to Colin Star in the Greenridge Farm Open. He took a huge 177lb 10oz of carp to 10lb on floating dog biscuit on the pole from peg 14 on Canal 2 to score a comfortable victory over Poingdestres' Pete Newman who caught 100lb 7oz of carp on floating pellet and pole from peg 11 on Canal 1.
Andy Potter finished third with 98lb 4oz of carp to 8lb on pole and maggot in the margins from peg 1 on Canal 1.
Hayden Mayers was fourth with 88lb 13oz. Others: K Barry 67lb 12oz, M Kenny 65lb 11oz.
The Nigel Turner/AWD Wealth Management Series at Orchard Farm at Bashley saw a string of good weights of small carp returned.
Salisbury angler James Knight, who had already qualified for the September final, once again finished on top with a superb 82lb 3oz of small carp taken on the pole and maggot.
Salisbury's Malc Pepperell, who finished second with 68lb 5oz of small carp, takes the qualifying place in the final with Nathan Fox third with 56lb 5oz and Mark Blake fourth with 52 lb 2 oz.
In the points championship Bournemouth Lodge's Chris Albiston leads with 165 points out of 200 from Dorset Raiders' Jem Turner on 162 points. Others: C Egerton (Poingdestres) 141, P Newman (Poingdestres) 139, J Knight (Salisbury) 137, P Shepherd 136.
