The outcome of Isle of Wight v Newport in the Premier Trophy meant little as both sides could not go any further in the competition.
Nevertheless the battle was entertaining with favourites IoW winning 61-34.
The visitors put in a competitive performance and at the end of the meet only Islanders captain Kryzsztof Stojanowski remained unbeaten.
The next action at the Island is on Wednesday when the potent Sheffield Tigers, who have been tipped for league honours, come across the Solent for league action.
There is no doubt this will be much more of a challenge.
