SHIRLEY SAC: The section of beach running between Westfield Common and Hamble was the setting for the latest shore competition. 26 members caught 18 fish (silver eels, bass, smoothhound and dogfish).
Richard Patterson won with three fish weighing 15lb 12oz, including a 7lb 6oz smoothhound, the evening's heaviest fish.
Mick Teague was the runner-up with four fish weighing exactly 11lb followed by Richard Dunham (6lb 7oz), David Neil (4lb 12oz) and Paul Binge (4lb 9oz).
The top junior was George Manning (3.25oz silver eel).
RED DEER SAC: Pollack, pout and cod supplied most of the action during a points competition held out from Lymington on Sundance 11' skippered by Roger Bayzand with Pete Stotesbury winning with 11 fish worth 159 points.
Dave Havers came second with 10 fish worth 141 points followed by Ralph Jones (136), Miles Burden (122) and Gary Lister (102).
LYMINGTON & DISTRICT SFC: A large boat competition held out from Lymington on Sundance 11' produced some good mixed catches comprising of black bream, dogfish, ballan wrasse, gurnard and bass.
The top performer on the day with 204 points was Jane Hopkins followed by Andy Hopkins (202), Alec Harmer (159), Derek Smith (142) and Ricky Bonner (75).
The next large boat competition also out from Lymington will be held this Sunday which also coincides with the club's open species competition. Details from Brian Ansell (01590 672628).
CHRISTCHURCH SHORE FC: Smoothhound supplied some lively action during the club's latest shore competition held around the Pennington Sea Wall with the best hound tipping the scales down to 12lb 4oz.
Dennis Holton won with 21lb 7oz to nudge out John Dunster (12lb 10.5oz) and Ron Hall (9lb 2oz). The junior section was won by 7-year-old Jason Voller (6lb 4oz hound).
