SAINTS have unveiled a new version of the club crest to commemorate their 125th anniversary.

The emblem encompasses key elements of the existing crest, but replaces the black outline with a gold trim, while the figure '125' replaces the ball below the new golden halo.

The all-important dates appear either side of the shield and, according to club spokesman Jordan Sibley, the crest marks the start of an exciting era in Saints' history.

"The launch of the crest represents the beginning of our 125 celebrations," he said.

"We were keen to produce a variation of our crest that subtly celebrated this important club milestone whilst retaining the traditional feel.

"The crest will be used on our bespoke merchandise and club literature, as well as forming an integral part of the 2010/11 home, away and goalkeeper kits."

It is the first change to the crest in ten years. Further details of how Saints will be marking their anniversary will be revealed soon.

"We will soon be announcing further details of how the club will be celebrating this special occasion throughout the forthcoming season, as well as launch details of the new kits," added Sibley.
