JUSTIN Rose felt much happier with his game after his second round at the BMW PGA Championship today.
The Hampshire golfer shot two-under-par at Wentworth this morning to move back to one-over for the tournament.
That could well be enough to make the cut and Rose was delighted with his performance today compared to that of yesterday, which he had described as “rubbish”.
He told the Daily Echo: “That was a whole lot better than yesterday, I played scrappy yesterday, but I hit every fairway today – 14 out of 14 fairways.
“Round this golf course you’ve got to say that’s pretty good.
“I drove the ball beautifully and that gives you every opportunity to score well out here.
“There were a lot of missed opportunities, not necessarily bad putts – I mean 17 and 18 both those putts could have toppled in on the edge, but they both stayed up.
“But it was much better today.”
Rose started the day in fine fashion, picking up birdies at the second and fourth.
However, he was unable to capitalise further and eventually dropped a shot at 14.
Rose came back with a birdie at 16, though, before narrowly missing putts at 17 and 18 that would have picked up further shots.
