LUCKLESS striker Jamie White has vowed to “give it one last push” to carve out a career in football after he suffered yet another devastating injury blow.

Cruelly, White’s latest setback happened as he was bidding to get his career back on track having been told he was being released by Saints.

The Harefield-based youngster tore the cruciate ligament in his right knee during a trial game for Stockport County’s reserves against Oldham.

He had surgery on his right knee last week and now doesn’t expect to return until around Christmas time.

Although he is just 20, it is the third major injury of his young career.

He snapped his left cruciate in his first ever first-team training session in 2007 before breaking his leg and dislocating his ankle in a reserve game against Aldershot last year.

White, who made three Championship appearances for Saints under Jan Poortvliet in 2008/09, admitted that he contemplated quitting football after his latest serious injury.

But he has decided to try and bounce back once again.
