SAINTS are expected to finally reveal their season ticket details in the next few days.
While most clubs announced their prices for the new campaign some time ago, there has been no word out of St Mary’s.
But that wait looks set to be coming to an end soon, with staff inside St Mary’s expecting details to be released imminently.
There has even been speculation a special £125 season ticket could be launched as part of the club’s 125th anniversary celebrations.
Owner Markus Liebherr has already sanctioned a sponsor-free shirt for the 2010/11 season as part of the club’s 125-year anniversary.
Whatever is decided, Perry McMillan, of the Southampton Independent Supporters Trust, believes cutting prices would benefit everyone – not just the approximate 14,000 that bought season tickets for all or part of the 2009/10 campaign following Liebherr’s takeover.
“I would urge the club to look at reducing the cost, because the reward for them will clearly be more bums on seats,” he said.
“A full stadium is the key for St Mary’s.
“It’s a wonderful stadium when it is full and that’s what we should be looking to achieve.
“There will be massive disappointment if there’s not at least a price freeze."
