SAINTS will receive an unexpected cash windfall after former defender Jelle van Damme joined Wolves.

The left-back completed his switch from Anderlecht to Molineux yesterday, with Saints in line for a six-figure sum from the deal.

Van Damme, pictured, left Saints for Belgium in 2005, but former chairman Rupert Lowe ensured a sell-on clause was inserted.

That is understood to be between 10 and 15 per cent of any deal.

Wolves are thought to have paid about 3m euros for the 26-year-old.

Saints are expected to receive anywhere between £250,000 and £385,000.
