WATERSIDE surrendered the only unbeaten record in the Championship leagues in startling style.
Their first Championship 2 defeat came in a 7-1 (81-69) defeat to new table-toppers Aerostructures and, in their latest match, they were whitewashed 100-58 at third-placed Parkside.
Scores: (Parkside first) B Falla 21 M Gibbons 18; C Bumstead 29 A Mills 10; R Fawcett 23 I Winterburn 18; A Hockey 27 B Mainwaring 12.
A 33-7 scorcher by D Moore, S Martin, S Dowdell and R Long against Lockswood's T Turner carried Fleming Park to a 5-2 (82-71) Championship 1 triumph on Lockwood's artificial surface.
Other scores: (Lockswood first) C Chambers 20 S Doig 20; P Wilkinson 17 A Anderson 16; J Small 27 A Forrest 13.
A 27-9 gem from Woolston's M Milne over Sports Centre's Mark Hammond was wiped out by Graham Standley of Sports Centre thumping Frank Hooper 26-10.
With the other two rinks going to Sports Centre, the 2005 champions triumphed 7-1 (84-77) to stay top with their opponents rooted to the bottom.
Banister Park consolidated second spot with a 7- (71-65) display at Brockenhurst, who might consider themselves unlucky to get such a paltry reward after a match in which the biggest rink margin was just three shots.
Gary Squires, Brian Barber, John Halliday and John Joslin (17-15 against R Green), Trevor Comley, Brian Dibdin, Steve Whitehead and Paul May (15-14 against P Sexton) and Nat DiCristina, Andrew Herring, Denny Murrey and Barry Bendall (23-20 against Derrick Fulker) put Banister in charge while Ken Prior, Malcolm Comley, George Churcher and Steve Rice drew 16-16 with Brock's A Jennings.
B Tickner, K Burton, G Thorne and A Dadd roasted D Teale 32-14 as Hants Police rose to third in Championship 3 with a 6-2 (83-73) success against table-proppers Hyde Abbey.
Second-placed BTC outgunned Hedge End 7-1 (87-74).
Scores: (Hedge End first) M Linn 22 E Doswell 26; A McGrady 21 I Payne 17; J Firth 18 J Westmore 21; M Nash 13 P Lebburn 23.
Mayfield Park stay top following a 6-2 (81-62) win against County, thanks chiefly to the 30-12 corker from R Buckman.
