SAINTS loanee Joseph Mills suffered an unhappy Doncaster Rovers debut last night.
The left-sided utility player – who celebrates his 21st birthday at the end of this month – was booked during Rovers’ 3-2 home Championship loss to Derby County.
He was also at fault for the first of Kris Commons’ two goals for the Rams just before the hour mark.
Mills had only joined Sean O’Driscoll’s side earlier in the day.
The Saints academy product has only made three brief sub appearances this season – against Rochdale and Swindon in the league and against Bolton in the Carling Cup.
Ironically, his only other loan spell away from St Mary’s came in 2008/09 when current Saints boss Nigel Adkins took him to Scunthorpe.
But despite having once signed the player, Adkins has yet to give Mills any senior action since taking over on the south coast.
