GRAHAM Baker won the battle of the ex-Saints as his Woking side shot down Ian Baird’s Eastleigh 3-2 in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round at Kingfield.
Having taken the lead after less than two minutes through Richard Gillespie, Eastleigh needed a Jamie Slabber goal to level 2-2 six minutes into the second half.
But it’s the Cards who will go into the draw for the first round proper after new signing Elvis Hammond settled a hectic tie with 67 minutes gone.
The game was preceded by a minute’s applause for Woking great Colin Lippiatt who passed away last week.
Eastleigh stuck with the same starting eleven that won 5-0 at Clevedon in the FA Cup and beat Dartford 3-0 in the league. On the bench they welcomed back Peter Adeniyi and Shaun McAuley after long term injury.
There was FA Cup disappointment all round for local sides. Salisbury were well beaten 3-0 at Corby Town.
And Poole Town conceded two late goals as they went down 3-1 at Hayes & Yeading.
