NOTTS County will have a new manager in place for the visit of Saints on Saturday - with Paul Ince remaining the odds-on favourite.

The League One side sacked Craig Short and his assistant Dave Kevan on Sunday, but have moved quickly to fill the void.

In a bizarre statement this afternoon, they have revealed they have appointed a new management team - but won't be telling anyone who it is until tomorrow.

If County are successful in keeping it under wraps until then, they will make an announcement at midday.

A statement on their website this afternoon said: "The board have agreed terms with a new management team and an announcement will made at noon tomorrow."

Former MK Dons and Blackburn manager Ince is the bookies' red-hot favourite.

The ex-Manchester United, Liverpool and Inter Milan midfielder was shortlisted for the job before it was handed to Short in June.

Ambitious County are currently 16th in League One, two points behind Saints, ahead of Saturday's clash at Meadow Lane.
