SHREWSBURY manager Graham Turner has hit back at Saints in the row over prices for the FA Cup first round clash between the sides.

The FA was called in to adjudicate after the clubs couldn't agree how much seats for next weekend's game should cost.

The Shrews wanted prices to remain at the same level as league matches at St Mary's, while Saints wanted to sell them at a reduced cost.

In the end, the FA sided with Saints, who accused the League Two side of "an over-ambitious move designed only to line their pockets".

An annoyed Turner responded: "For some of the statements to go out where they've talked about us lining our pockets or cashing in on it I think it's disrespectful to us and I think it's disrespectful to the competition.

"I'm not sure whether they still think they're Manchester United, or Liverpool or Chelsea.

"They're playing among the smaller fry of the Football League and to tell us to remember where we are and the standard of the opposition it just bugs me, because they're only about 15 places ahead of us.

"It's a club that's fallen on hard times, so if I was them I think I'd be a bit more respectful to other clubs and other teams in the Football League, especially where they find themselves at the moment."
