RICKIE Lambert will have his unblemished Saints spot-kick record tested to the full if he takes a penalty against Brentford this weekend.

The St Mary’s talisman has scored all 15 penalties he has taken for the club, including two in JPT shoot-outs last season.

Four of Lambert’s six goals this season have come from 12 yards out – at Bristol Rovers and at Notts County and two at home to Bournemouth.

But in goal for Brentford this weekend will be Richard Lee, a man with an impressive penalty saving record – as Saints fans will remember.

It was back in October 2008 that Lee, playing for Watford, saved two penalties in the first 45 minutes from David McGoldrick and Paul Wotton during his side’s 3-0 victory at St Mary’s.

They were part of a run where Lee saved four successive penalties.

Lee has also been on the winning side in THREE penalty shoot outs already this season.
