Something has to give this weekend when one of League One’s most formidable home sides comes up against the best away team in the division.
Saints welcome Brentford to St Mary’s hoping to continue their marvellous St Mary’s form that has seen them pick up more points on their own turf this season than all but four sides in League One.
But Brentford will be no pushover.
They may have had a quiet start to the season and currently sit in mid-table but no team in League One has collected more points on their travels than Andy Scott’s men have this campaign.
It is a terrific clash in prospect and, after the postponement of last week’s match at Hartlepool, will mark the sixth home game in the last seven fixtures for Saints.
