CELTIC manager Neil Lennon has revealed he is unaware of any negotiations to sell defender Jos Hooiveld to Saints.
The centre half is on loan at St Mary's until January, with his agent this week stating that the clubs had started talks over a permanent move.
But Lennon insists that is news to him.
He told media in Scotland: “I wasn’t aware we were entering negotiations to sell him at all.”
However, the Celtic boss said the Parkhead club would be willing to discuss a deal if Hooiveld decided he did not want to return to Scotland.
“We’ve given him time to get some football and, by all accounts, things are going very well at Southampton," said Lennon.
“We are monitoring his current situation. But it may come to the case he may not want to come back. He might see his future elsewhere. Then we’ll enter negotiations.”
