RICKIE Lambert has become the fourth most prolific penalty taker in Saints history after his spot-kick double against Brighton.
The striker boasts a perfect record for the club from 12 yards, having converted all 22 of his attempts since arriving at St Mary’s a little over two years ago.
His brace from the spot in last Saturday’s 3-0 win over Albion has now moved him ahead of George O’Brien and John Page in the list of Saints’ top post-war penalty takers.
Matt Le Tissier still stands well clear at the summit, having scored 47 in his career with the club.
Although Lambert has some way to go to catch him, Saints’ current number seven is fast closing in on David Peach and Mick Channon’s totals.
