Rickie Lambert has proven good players can play at any level.

I don’t think you would say he is the quickest in the world but his brain certainly is.

He holds up the ball well, he lays it off, he sees openings for other players and the nearer he gets to goal the more lethal he becomes.

But, without a doubt, his set pieces are excellent.

Those two penalties last week gave him a well earned hat-trick which then led to comparisons with other penalty takers over the years who have played for Saints.
