Saints lost their first league game since September as they were beaten 2-0 by Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
It was a below par performance from Nigel Adkins’ men, though they will feel themselves unlucky with the goals they conceded which both took a deflection.
Both strikes came in the second half, from the excellent Albert Adomah and Nicky Maynard.
Saints’ advantage at the top of the table meant their position was never under threat but the game did mark the first league game this season that they failed to score and their third defeat of the campaign.
