Former Saints director Lee Hoos has been appointed chief executive of the club's Championship rivals Burnley.
The American was part of the new-look board brought in by Michael Wilde after forcing Rupert Lowe and his board supporters out of St Mary's in the summer of 2006.
Hoos stayed on at Saints after three executive directors - Ken Dulieu, Jim Hone and Andy Oldknow - all left in December 2007.
Hoos, who started his career in English football at Fulham, went on to work for Leicester City under Milan Mandaric before leaving last year.
