Winchester light-welterweight Steve Lynch has been told he could get a TV date if he picks up another win in Portsmouth this weekend.
Lynch has signed up with manager Mickey Helliet who is hoping to tie up a deal with a television channel and has told Lynch he could land himself a spot on it if he does well at the Pyramids Centre.
Lynch’s last fight was a points win over Bheki Moyo that followed a controversial draw with Jason Nesbitt on his professional debut.
“It was a relief to get that win under my belt,” said the 31 year-old. “I feel a lot more relaxed now.
“I have got that win on my record and now I'm now looking to improve and push on.
“We've been working on a lot of things in the gym with my trainer Manny Singh. I've always been a come-forward fighter who likes a row and Manny wants me to take a few less shots.
“We’ve been working on my skills and my boxing brain.”
Lynch was set a few problems by Moyo in his last fight.
“It was tough,” he admitted.
“He was hard to hit because he kept his chin down, had a high guard – and he hit me back as well.
“I had to break him down. It was a good test.”
Lynch plans to enjoy a summer break after boxing in Portsmouth – and is planning a big year after that.
“I’m looking to be get some more wins and push on towards a title fight,” said Lynch Tickets for the show are available from 07584 085288.
