Tony Hill has sat out a second fight in quick succession after being invited to take part in a series of sparring sessions with George Groves.
After his victory at Fleming Park, the Southampton light heavyweight had been expected to get back in the ring on Saturday in a show in Swindon.
However, Groves got in contact to request that Hill spend much of a three week training block sparring him as he prepares for a title fight in Liverpool at the end of the month.
It was too good an opportunity for Hill to turn down.
“This is so much more valuable in terms of experience than another six round fight,” said Hill’s trainer Wayne Batten.
“It has been really good for Tony and he can take some positives out of this. He will benefit 100 times more from this than another six round fight.”
