TWO Lymington boxers have won through to the ABA national quarter- finals.
Lawrence ABC pair Dom Powers and Lawrence Cartwright took another step towards senior novice championships glory by triumphing in Folkestone, Kent.
Heavyweight Powers, left of picture, claimed a convincing points verdict against D Heston (Cambridgeshire), forcing his opponent to take a standing count on the way to victory.
Brockenhurst College student Cartwright, 17, right of picture, was giving away almost nine years in age to A Yerlett (Essex) in the cruiserweight category.
Yerlett was ahead 4-1 at the end of the first of four two-minute rounds, but Cartwright sliced the deficit to 7-6 at the halfway stage.
Cartwright was now well in control and Yerlett had to take one standing count in the third round and two in the fourth. Eventually, Cartwright won a 33-11 victory.
The national quarter-finals take place this weekend in Witney, Oxfordshire.
