Matty Tew didn’t disappoint his legions of fans by producing another thrilling win over Jason Thompson.
The Southampton fighter rarely fails to deliver entertainment and completed his first six rounder with a 57-59 points win, his ninth victory from nine as a pro.
Tew has gained a reputation for getting involved in toe-to-toe, all action bouts in the ring but started the win over Thompson in much more measured, and impressive, fashion.
He stepped back and picked his punches and looked like he was going to cruise it.
However, he got dragged into something of a scrap which proved once more he has a massive heart but didn’t showcase the best of the boxing skills he most definitely has.
