Australia all-rounder Shane Watson is still struggling with his hamstring strain and will be unavailable for the second Ashes Test in Adelaide on Friday.

Watson was a late withdrawal from the first Test, which finished with a landslide victory for the hosts over Andrew Flintoff's tourists in Brisbane today.

It has since been confirmed the ex-Hampshire all-rounder Watson has not recovered in time to be considered for inclusion in the squad to take on England again on Friday.

Watson's place was taken at The Gabba by specialist batsman Michael Clarke, who made a half-century in his team's massive first-innings 602 for nine declared.

Australia's squad for Adelaide is scheduled to be announced tomorrow.
