Hampshire 2nds suffered two defeats in back to back t20 2nd XI cup games against Surrey at Purley CC today.
They were comfortably beaten by 61 runs in the first game, before losing the second by just one run.
Jason Roy struck 92 off 63 balls as Surrey won the first match.
He smashed four sixes and eight fours as the hosts amassed 196-3, with first team seamers David Griffiths (1-24) and James Tomlinson (1-33) recording the best bowling figures.
In reply, Hampshire lost opener Sean Terry, pictured, for just three.
That brought Adam Rouse to the crease and he top scored for Hampshire with 46 off 32 balls as the visitors were restricted to 132-8.
Opener Michael Roberts made 23 but middle order pair Hamza Riazuddin (14) and Michael Bates (9) fell cheaply.
Second time around, Surrey again batted first and posted 146-3 with Gary Wilson hitting 70 not out.
Hampshire reached 87-1 in reply with Terry (48) and Rouse (32) top scoring.
But they eventually fell agonisingly short when Jake George could only manage a single off the last ball when he needed three for victory.
