Hampshire are set for a reunion with Kabir Ali and Simon Katich after drawing Lancashire in the quarter-finals of the Friends Life t20.
The Royals storm into the knockout stages of the competition on the back of yet another victory, after beating Middlesex at the Ageas Bowl tonight.
And the defending champions will now face the Lightning at home next Wednesday for a place in Finals Day, at Edgbaston.
That means they will come face-to-face with former Hampshire stars Kabir and Katich.
Sean Ervine, who hit an unbeaten 60 in the win over the Panthers, said: “Obviously, we weren’t really too bothered with the draw. Whoever we were going to face would be a really good team.
“We just have to keep repeating what we’ve been doing the whole season.
“Everyone had their choices, but at the end of the day it will be quite nice to have Lancashire down here.
“They’ve got to travel quite far and it’s good to see some old Hampshire heads playing for them, old Katto and Kabs, so it should be a good one.
“We’re out there to win, both teams are out there to win, and to get through to Finals Day, which is a very special day.”
