LIAM Dawson warmed up for tonight’s Friends Life quarter final with a career-best performance as Hampshire beat Bangladesh A at The Ageas Bowl Dawson hit 97 from 87 balls (11 fours, three sixes), his sixth one-day fifty, as Hampshire made 223 after losing the toss.
Then the slow left-armer took 3-11, his best List A return for more than four years, after opening the bowling as Hampshire restricted the tourists to 215-9, winning by eight runs.
Dimi Mascarenhas made 35 while captaining a young side including two Middlesex players,m Josh Davey and Adam London, and four homegrown Hampshire starlets making their one-days.
Brad Taylor (2-23), a 16 year-old off-spinner from the Hampshire academy, and seamer Jack Sheppard (2-49) took two wickets apiece.
