Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove believes that Shane Warne may captain the county for THREE more seasons.
Warne is contracted to captain Hampshire until the end of the 2008 season.
And Bransgrove has responded to reports linking the Australian with an England coaching role by stating that he could still be playing for the county when he is 40.
Following Warne's positive response to England coach Duncan Fletcher's interest, Bransgrove refused to rule out three more seasons at Hampshire for the 37-year-old - and a coaching role beyond that.
Bransgrove said: "Shane Warne has a job.
"No-one from the ECB has spoken to me about this and normally the first contact is made with the current employer, so this is just speculation.
"He's the Hampshire captain for at least the next two seasons and it's more than possible that he will have three more seasons.
"We intend to utilise him to the best effect".
