HAMPSHIRE chairman Rod Bransgrove shares Shane Warne's desire for England's top players to play more county cricket.

Warne has suggested that stars such as his Hampshire colleague Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Strauss and Steve Harmison should play more domestic games.

Pietersen, for instance, only played TWO one-day games for Hampshire in 2006 and has not played a first-class game for his county since making his Test debut in July 2005.

A former member of the ECB management board, Brangrove said: "When we voted in favour of central contracts, I remember making the point that they should not be mismanaged.

"My disappointment is that a lot of the players have been short of match practice."

Warne, 37, played 28 more days of cricket in 2006 than Pietersen, who is 12 years younger.
