Chris Tremlett expects to be bombarded with abuse when he wins his first England cap on foreign soil.

The Hampshire fast bowler is in the England one-day squad that begins the Commonwealth Bank Series - a triangular tournament against Australia and New Zealand - in Melbourne against the home side in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

If he is not involved tomorrow, Tremlett should add to his three ODI caps by playing at some stage during the tournament.

The 25-year-old won the last of his three ODI caps 19 months ago.

He was called up for the Tri-Series against Australia and Bangladesh after starting the 2005 domestic season with 42 wickets in eight games at 21.57.

But although he made seven of his 11 appearances for England Under-19s away from home, he has yet to experience a senior international in Australia.

Tremlett said: "I've played academy games over here but one-day internationals in front of 40,000 people are going to be completely different. "I've played in front of big crowds before, like at Lord's in the C & G Trophy final, but nothing like what we're going to get over here.

"It's especially hard because of the abuse from the locals.

"I don't think people realise how much stick we're getting!

"The Aussies are all in it together.

"I got an idea of what it's like during the warm up before the Twenty20 international (two days ago in Sydney) but people are rubbing it in all the time.

"Even if we nick the ball in the nets, the Aussies who are watching tell us how crap we are!

"They're certainly not shy about having a word or two and I expect I'll get plenty because I'll probably be fielding out on the boundary.

"But it's just something I'll have to get used to if I want to play regularly at the highest level".
