Hampshire batsman Sean Terry suffered a broken arm after being struck by a Chris Tremlett delivery.
The opening batsman had made five in Hampshire II's second innings during a pre-season friendly against Surrey at Guildford when he retired hurt with a fractured left forearm.
Ironically, the 22 year-old's dad - former Hampshire star Paul Terry - suffered a similar injury 30 years ago, when hit by a Winston Davis delivery during his second and final Test appearance against the West Indies.
Terry jnr, who has also signed for Burridge CC this season, was captaining the 2nds when he was forced off the field at Woodbridge Road towards the end of the second day of the three-day match, which finished as a draw.
His injury follows the broken index finger suffered by wicketkeeper Adam Wheater during Hampshire's LV County Championhip win against Gloucestershire at Bristol.
But Tom Alsop impressed, making 150 (201 balls, 26 fours, one six) of Hampshire II's first-innings 377, with Tremlett taking 5-31.
Hampshire then conceded 502, with Jason Roy (202) and Rory Burns (120) sharing a fourth-wicket partnership of 321, despite the best efforts of former Surrey man David Balcombe (4-92) and Danny Briggs (3-75).
Alsop also top scored in Hampshire's second innings with 74 as the visitors made 272-4, before hands were shaken.
