HAMPSHIRE star Glenn Maxwell produced a second astonishing batting performance inside three days earlier today.
The big-hitting Australian has taken the lucrative Indian Premier League by storm as Kings XI Punjab have beaten Chennai and Rajasthan thanks to high-scoring run chases.
Maxwell blitzed 95 off just 43 balls to help Punjab chase over 200 to stun Chennai, then yesterday he blasted 89 off 45 deliveries against Rajasthan.
Asked to chase 206 for victory against Chennai, Maxwell reached his half-century in 25 balls and ended with 15 fours and two sixes in his 95 – his highest t20 innings.
Earlier today Maxwell helped Punjab recover from 10-2 to successfully chase 192 for victory against Rajasthan.
This time he struck six sixes and eight fours in his remarkable innings.
With South African David Miller unbeaten on 51 off 19 balls, Punjab – skippered by former Hampshire batsman George Bailey – won by seven wickets with eight balls left.
Another ex-Ageas Bowl batsman, Australian Shane Watson, had struck three sixes and five fours in his 29-ball 50 for Rajasthan.
