GLENN Maxwell was out for 13 as Australia suffered their first defeat to Zimbabwe for 31 years.
Australia captain Michael Clarke made an unbeaten 68 but did not get the support he needed as his side was restricted to 209-9.
Maxwell, Hampshire’s T20 overseas batsman, then took 1-41 from his eight overs as Zimbabwe completed a famous win, by three wickets with two overs to spare, in their penultimate match of the triangular series.
South Africa’s Imran Tahir will rejoin Hampshire after its conclusion next weekend.
