Glenn Maxwell won his second man-of-the-match award in four days after bowling a double-wicket maiden with the final over as Australia beat Pakistan by ONE run to complete a 3-0 ODI series win.
The Hampshire star had followed up his match-winning 76 with a 22-ball 20 before starring with his off-spin during the final over of the series in Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan only needed two to win when it began, but Maxwell bowled former Hampshire player Sohail Tanvir with the second ball.
And after three successive dots against Mohammad Irfan he had Pakistan’s last man caught at cover with the final delivery.
Maxwell, who finished with 2-41, said: “Wasn’t going too well until the last over. He (captain George Bailey) was just saying don’t get hit for runs.
“I got a bit of luck at the end. I’m still looking for the big scores to solidify my spot for the World Cup.”
