HAMPSHIRE Cricket hope to repeat the success of the Ageas Bowl's second Test match when they host the ground’s next international.
Tikcets are now on general sale for England v New Zealand on Sunday, June 14.
And commercial director Stuart Robertson believes more off-field activities, like those available on the opening day of the India Test in July, will attract another capacity crowd for what will be the Ageas Bowl’s first major game following completion of the ground’s redevelopment, with the Hilton Hotel due to be officially opened in May.
“Like the first day of the India Test, the New Zealand ODI is on a Sunday so it’ll be another really good day for the family,” said Robertson.
“The climbing wall will be back, along with a bouncy castle, Laserquest and Cage Cricket.”
Tickets are also on general sale for the Ageas Bowl’s other international next summer, the floodlit series opener against Australia on Wednesday, September 3.
“There’s a really strong demand for the day-nighter against Australia,” said Robertson. “It should be a cracking game but will be a different audience with it being played in the first week of the new term.
“This is one for our core cricket audience.”
Tickets are available to the general public from Monday (priced £35 and £40 respectively).
Meanwhile, Hampshire expect to find out whether they have been successful in their bid to host a 2019 Ashes Test in six weeks’ time.
The bidding is due to be completed next month and the England and Wales Cricket Board will make its decision in mid-December, when the venues of all England’s matches scheduled from 2017-19 will be announced.
They will include games in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and 2019 World Cup.
