As he prepares for his fifth Hampshire season, Shane Warne is targeting his first as an ever-present.
Since making his county championship debut in 2000, Warne has been unable to play every game for Hampshire because of his international commitments.
Until now.
His decision to retire from Test cricket following the completion of Australia's 5-0 Ashes whitewash in January means the 37-year-old is hoping to play in all 16 championship games this season as Hampshire target a first title since 1973.
"I've always missed a couple of games through international commitments so I'm looking forward to playing all the games if I stay injury free," he said at the Rose Bowl yesterday.
"I've had a few months off so the body feels good and I wouldn't be playing if I didn't think I could still do it.
"I enjoy playing county cricket and captaining Hampshire so like to think I could play a full year."
