Shane Warne refused to blame Kent captain Rob Key after Hampshire's latest championship match finished in a bore draw.
Warne was frustrated with Key's decision to bat Hampshire out of the game by setting a victory target of 461, as the visitors only had 95 overs in which to get the runs following the forecasted showers on the last two days at Canterbury.
Hampshire soon gave up any hope before eventually closing on 275-5 on Saturday evening, following SIX dropped catches.
If Kent had declared earlier it would have given both sides more chance of winning, but the respective skippers are both pals through their love of poker, and Key was leaving nothing to chance.
Warne said: "Keysy obviously wanted to bat us out of the game because 461 was a lot of runs.
"I'd have done it differently but we just play the game differently.
"You have two ways to go when you declare, you either do what Kent did or you give the opposition a lot of time to chase a big score.
"If Kent had done that they'd have also had longer at us with the second new ball, but then if they'd held a few catches Keysy would have made the right decision."
