Shane Warne is one offence away from a two-match ban after becoming the first player to be handed six penalty points by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
The Hampshire captain has been punished under the ECB's discipline code following his reaction to being given out lbw on the second day of the draw against Kent at Canterbury last week.
Warne glared at umpire Tim Robinson before uttering audible obscenities as he made his way into the pavilion following Ryan McLaren's successful shout during Hampshire's first innings.
The points remain on Warne's record for two years and the accumulation of nine or more in any two-year period results in an automatic suspension.
No player has previously had six points and only four other players currently have three.
They include former Hampshire duo Dominic Thornely and Richard Logan, while Dimitri Mascarenhas had three points erased a year ago following an incident against Essex in 2004.
