WICKET-keeper Nic Pothas will replace England-bound Dimi Mascarenhas as Hampshire's Twenty20 Cup captain.

Pothas takes charge starting tonight against Middlesex at Southgate.

Uncapped all-rounder Mascarenhas was today linking up with the rest of the England squad to face the West Indies in two Twenty20 clashes and three one day internationals.

Winchester-born left-hander Jimmy Adams, 26, will fill the void left by Mascarenhas, who was chosen to replace Shane Warne as captain after the Aussie spinner was allowed to miss the Twenty20.
