DIMITRI Mascarenhas hopes to return to Hampshire's Championship team as an established member of England's one-day squad - with the help of Allan Donald.
Mascarenhas is expected to play in the second one-day international against the West Indies at Edgbaston today and the third and final match of the ODI series at Trent Bridge on Saturday.
But he still intends to be available for Hampshire's next Championship match, which starts against Warwickshire on Sunday, and has already benefited from his time with England following a one-on-one session with bowling coach Donald.
Donald's contract has been extended by the ECB until the end of the Twenty20 World Cup and yesterday morning Mascarenhas benefited from the South African legend's expertise.
England team analyst Mark Garaway, who played a handful of first-team games alongside Mascarenhas for Hampshire in 1999, said: "I watched Dimi working on a few things with AD and it looked an exceptional session.
"Dimi seems to be a more professional player than when I played with him and he's already picked up a lot from his time with us."
