Nic Pothas has NOT suffered a fracture to his left eye socket - and may even play against the Worcestershire Royals tomorrow night.
Pothas had a second X-ray yesterday morning, which confirmed he had not suffered a fracture and was therefore able to bat in his customary number six position.
Physio Andrew Nealon confirmed: "Nic had a CT scan yesterday morning and we spoke to the radiologist and facial consultant who confirmed there was no fracture."
Hampshire manager Paul Terry now expects Pothas to be in contention to play against Worcestershire at Derby tomorrow (4.40pm start).
He said: "'Skeg's' not an easy bloke to sit out. He's a pain in the neck, he always needs to be doing something so he'll probably play."
Hampshire are definitely without Sean Ervine, who suffered an injury to his left foot while playing a cut shot in the penultimate Twenty20 match at Essex last week.
Ervine is expected to be out for up to ten days but in the absence of Stuart Clark, David Griffiths could be handed his one-day debut tomorrow.
