CHRIS Tremlett is set to retain his place in the England attack for the second Test against India, which starts at Trent Bridge on Friday, after his impressive debut at Lord's.

The Hampshire star, the first Southampton-born cricketer to play a home Test, took 3-52 yesterday before bad light and rain ensured that the opening match of the series ended in a draw.

Tremlett, having taken 1-52 in the first innings, finished with match figures of 4-104 after adding the wickets of VVS Laxman and Zaheer Khan to his haul yesterday afternoon.
